Impact and history

What we have actually done

Numbers we can stand behind, with the year, the place and the programme attached to each one. Where something is a goal rather than a result, we say so.

500+farmers engaged directly in their own fields
100farms transitioned to organic practice
₹10 lakhof organic inputs distributed free to farmers
1,000+children reached with child‑safety education
25schools where MAGAL sessions have run
100women trained toward economic independence
15free medical camps held
15community workshops on soil and organic practice

Figures are cumulative to date across all programmes in Tamil Nadu and Telangana, India.

How this work developed

Each programme was added because the community we were already working in asked for it.

  • 2018 MAGAL begins in Tamil Nadu schools

The first child‑protection sessions run in government schools, bringing a social educator, advocate, police officer, doctor and counsellor in front of children, parents and teachers together.

  • 2022 POSH training reaches employers

Workplace harassment prevention seminars delivered for employees and Internal Complaints Committees, including at Madras Fertilizers Limited, Manali, led by Advocate Rajeswari Karthikeyan.

  • 2022–2023 Women 100 launches with Rotary partners

Vocational cohorts in tailoring, Aari embroidery, baking, Tally, beauty and lab technology, delivered with Rotary clubs in Chennai. Graduates receive certificates and equipment, including sewing machines.

  • 2023 Medical camps and career guidance

Free camps for women and children begin in villages and schools, with screening, medicine and referral. Career development sessions start at government arts and science colleges, delivered in Tamil and English.

  • 2023 Foundation registered in the United States

Kalpatharu Foundation International established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 92‑3560830, based in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

  • 2024 Save Soil, Save Lives

Roughly ₹10 lakh of organic inputs distributed free to farmers, alongside in‑field diagnosis, spray schedules, follow‑up visits and community workshops. The KBF field method is formalised.

  • 2025–2026 Consolidating and scaling

Extending Save Soil toward village‑scale work, expanding MAGAL district coverage, and developing a parallel community development model in the United States.
